Gabriel Emanuel is a Canadian born playwright, poet and singer/songwriter. In 1978 he co-founded the Nephesh Theatre Company of Toronto,  Canada’s only professional Jewish Theatre company, with director Howard Rypp. The company relocated to Israel where it continues to have an impact on Israeli and international audiences. His most popular play, “EINSTEIN”, has been translated into a dozen languages and continues to be performed around the world. “THE GOLEM OF PRAGUE”, premiered at the International Children’s Theatre festival in Haifa, Israel in April, 2008. “MR. BEGIN”, about the controversial life of Israeli Prime Minister,Menahem Begin, premiered at the Menahem Begin Center in Jerusalem on July 18, 2013. In 2018 “Mark Twain Live in Bombay” premiered at Mumbai’s Prithvi Theatre and has continued to tour India based out of Kolkata.

“Mr. Begin”

On July 18, 2013 “Mr. Begin” premiered to an enthusiastic sold out crowd at the Menahem Begin Center in Jerusalem. Starring veteran Israeli actor, Danny Steg, “Mr. Begin” combines a virtuoso theatrical performance with multimedia capturing the spirit of Israel’s 6th Prime Minister. Laced with controversy and sardonic humor, “Mr. Begin” is available in both English and Hebrew. In attendance opening night were Begin’s own daughter, granddaughter and great grandchildren as well as both Begin ‘s longtime secretary and confidante, Yehiel Kadishai and his English speechwriter and biographer, Yehuda Avner.
